PTO Meeting Minutes from Tuesday, November 4, 2016
In attendance: Mrs. Hartt, Jecenia Bresett, Joyce Cardone, Mark Cardone, Wanie Heath, Aimee Flowers, Chrissy Guilfoil, Dave Carbone, Lauren Adamowsky, Jill Esposito, Liz McKeever, Ellen Benjamin, Laura Crandall
Meeting called to order (Mark): 6:05pm

Treasurer’s Report (Chrissy):
- Balances: Checking at $18,465.48 and PTO Savings at $500
-Walk-a-thon made over $9,000
-Tully’s was a huge success. We will find out our total profit by next week.
-Subway is up next on Tuesday, November 15th, 3pm until close, 15% goes back to DDE
-Finding Dory: Need volunteers (Joyce Cardone), pizza, snacks, popcorn, and drinks served. If you’d like to volunteer (by selling food and tickets), please let Laura Crandall know at email@example.com.
Walkathon: Great success. Everyone get their prizes? Great job on the logo this year. Huge fundraiser for the kids.
Roller Skating: Friday, November 18th, flyer to come home soon
Minute to Win It: January 20th: Wanie and Jill
-Flyer will go out around the 1st of the year. Will reach out to Denise and Antoinette
Princess Ball: Friday, February 10th: Joyce Cardone
-Theme is TBD but planning will start soon. May try to get a limo for the event.
-Joyce will plan on a separate meeting to start planning this. May need help with the photo gift that Kelly Hodgins did last year; very time consuming on the day of.
Ziti Dinner: April 26th: Wanie, Jill, and Aimee
Dance Program: Allyson Taggert
~About 60 students in the dance program
-Dance recital end of April, may need to move the dance dress rehearsal to a different day.
-Over $400 worth of submissions
-Could also do through an app and with the receipt
Shopping Programs: check out all shopping options online at DDE’s webpage at http://www.proudtobedde.com
-Shoparoo: scan the receipts through the App
-Amazon Smile: sign up with account with Donlin Drive Parent Teacher Organization
-Price Chopper and Tops
Shades of Orange Art Program: will start in November
-In the future, the DDE teachers may do this program. Mrs. Hartt has some great ideas.
New Business: Food Pantry was empty (Jecenia Bresett)
-Over $300 worth of donations
-Bring in a canned goods at the next movie night
-Jecenia will send the flyer and items that are best to bring in for the pantry; students get a backpack full of items
-Do they also need clothing, warm clothes, etc.? Teachers tend to adopt a family each year.
Edge Federal Credit Union will go home this week. (Guest speaker from last PTO meeting.)
Neal Fitzpatrick from Liverpool School Board guest/liaison. Want to provide a forum to have the joint PTOs to come together
-Change in lunch program billing policy. After 5 charges, kids were given a cheese sandwich. If students need a free lunch, they should fill out a free or reduced lunch program. Perhaps there is a language barrier with the forms? At DDE there are 19 different languages spoken. Updates on capital projects and school start times.
Next PTO Meeting is on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. No meeting in December!
